TeeTurtle is a rapidly growing consumer products company that creates cute, nerdy, pop culture products including t-shirts, toys and games. We strive to help people express themselves and build communities, and we display and sell our products through our e-commerce store, major retail channels, and at 250 comic conventions and pop culture events per year.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic HR Director to set strategy, improve processes, and assess/mitigate risk within the various functions of the HR department while providing high-level leadership to the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage HR strategy based on what is specifically best for the organization rather than solely based on industry standards or best practices to foster organizational growth and scalability

  • Oversee gap analysis and job analysis processes to inform job descriptions and make strategic recommendations for recruiting and role changes within the organization

  • Set and implement strategy for hiring and recruiting to reduce time to hire and minimize the burden on managers while effectively finding the right talent

  • Set and implement strategy for performance management across the organization to ensure each individual is set up for success with the tools and trainings required

  • Set and implement strategy for maintaining high employee engagement to retain talent and uphold the TeeTurtle culture

  • Be a trusted resource to employees for difficult conversations to ensure all individuals feel safe in the workplace

  • Oversee conflict resolution issues that require HR involvement or investigation to ensure all perspectives are heard and fairly assessed

  • Map and improve processes to ensure streamlined HR operations as our organization grows

  • Build processes and systems that empower employees to self-manage in alignment with company procedures and policies to promote autonomy

  • Collect, consolidate, and interpret data from engagement surveys and other forms of feedback to build and influence HR strategy

  • Conduct research and analysis of HR reports and trends to stay up to date on the current HR landscape

  • Assess and communicate on specific risks and liabilities (legal and otherwise) and make recommendations to protect the interests of the organization and its employees

  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to understand staffing, recruiting, and retention needs to reduce stress and promote organizational growth

  • Effectively communicate to the organization, especially during challenging times, to help quickly establish buy-in and alignment and ensure all individuals are moving in the same direction

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate has:

  • An MBA and/or Masters in HR

  • 5+ years HR management experience in small to medium sized business environments

  • Experience developing and implementing HR strategy in a growing company

  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal labor laws

  • Human Resources Certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
