We're TeeTurtle, a bustling E-Commerce company in the nerdy apparel & merchandise industry.  With a highly social audience and an extremely shareable product, TeeTurtle presents a unique opportunity for a highly analytical Marketing Director to make an immediate impact on revenue, customer engagement, and profits.  We are looking for top marketing talent as we expand our creative team.


The Ideal Candidate:

You love nothing more than thinking about new ways to drive revenue.  You can draft marketing plans and execute them to completion, completely independently if necessary.  You are a strategic thinker with proven ability to problem solve, connect the dots and frame in a strategic story line to influence your audience.  You can research like a pro and are aware of the ever-changing landscape of digital marketing.  The word “algorithm” has an actual definition to you and is not just a buzzword.  You keep up with industry trends, but you are also unafraid to take new calculated risks and have the analytical chops to effectively track your success. You realize that being computationally skilled is a prerequisite to succeeding in the field of digital marketing.  You realize that KPIs don’t matter if the conversions aren’t there.  Your reaction to inefficiency is that of internal rage.  You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are a disruptive thinker.

Requirements

  • Direct and create of ad plans that account for inventory and expected sales velocity per product
  • Create sales forecasts months in advance to properly plan for inventory replenishment domestically and internationally
  • Determine pricing and ad spend based on gross profit of the product type or mix of products
  • Understand and maintain the company P&L and trim marketing expenses appropriately while maintaining revenue growth
  • Find ways to maximize customer retention using owned channels
  • Manage all levels of the conversion funnel and find ways to increase conversion rate
  • Design comprehensive marketing plans for new brand extensions from the ground up
  • Determine performance indicators to effectively test new products and brand strategies
  • Generate reports to present to upper management to show performance
  • Maintain and manage all online sales channels
  • Conceptualize cross-channel campaigns that utilize TeeTurtle’s presence at conventions and in retail
  • Manage creation of engaging social media and blog content and maintain a consistent level of activity and brand voice
  • Direct creation of branded e-mail campaigns
  • Profitably run large-scale Facebook advertising campaigns
  • Design strategies to effectively promote new product releases and sales through both paid and owned channels
  • Negotiate compensation and define project details for outside contractors related to marketing and promotions
  • Promote the marketing team and its successes and delegate to each team member according to individual strengths
  • Assess each team member’s performance often and make appropriate and timely recommendations
  • Monitor resource contention issues across different brands and products; set-up processes to ensure that resources are divided according to each brand’s relative potential
  • Establish a marketing department culture of accountability, approachability, and competence.

The Necessary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing
  • 3+ years’ experience in a management role
  • Demonstrated thought leadership skills
  • Unrivaled analytical prowess
  • B2C e-commerce marketing experience
  • Experience using Facebook and Google ad platforms for large-scale campaigns
  • An understanding of what drives purchasing behavior
  • A finger on the pulse of the digital marketing world
  • A willingness to do extensive research to fill in any gaps in knowledge and become an expert in all required areas of digital marketing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Exceptional proofing and copy editing skills
  • A strong competency with computers, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
  • The ability to easily switch gears, take on new challenges, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated history of delivering superior results in a performance-based company
